Kid's Christmas at the Courthouse

Chillicothe, MO – Incoming news from the North Pole: Santa Claus has officially tapped Main Street Chillicothe to help local children find the perfect presents for the special people in their lives this holiday season! Main Street Chillicothe is thrilled to announce the return of its beloved Kid’s Christmas event, spreading festive cheer and holiday magic throughout the community.

This year’s event will take place Thursday, December 11, 2025, from 4:00–6:00 p.m. at the Livingston County Courthouse.

Children are invited to shop for Mom, Dad, grandparents, teachers, or anyone on their holiday list. Downtown merchants will once again create miniature storefronts inside the Courthouse, offering specially priced gifts under $15 to make thoughtful shopping easy and affordable. Parents send their children with cash and typically wait at the Courthouse’s north entrance while the kids browse. Friendly helper elves will be on hand to guide young shoppers, answer questions, and make the experience fun and stress-free.

Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus will be in attendance and available for photos! Families are encouraged to stop by for a magical moment with the North Pole’s most famous duo. With generous sponsorship from Murray’s Buffet & Grill, the Holiday Trolley will be offering festive FREE rides for children throughout the event.

Children can also make their own complimentary Christmas cards at the free card-making station. Free gift wrapping will be provided so kids can leave with gifts they selected, purchased, and wrapped all by themselves adding an extra touch of pride to every present.

Kid’s Christmas continues to be one of Main Street Chillicothe’s favorite traditions, and we look forward to celebrating with local families for years to come.
