Then and Now #24 - P. Kirby Building

📍 The P. Kirby Building located at 609 Webster Street was originally constructed around 1900 🏗️. It is seemingly the second building on the site to be called the P. Kirby Building 🔄. Around 1891 the building on the site was listed as the P. Kirby Saloon 🍻. That original building was later replaced with the current one standing on the site 🧱. A number of businesses have occupied the space 🏪, primarily saloons 🍺, cafés ☕, and restaurants 🍽️. The structure itself has a beautifully designed cornice 🌟 with detailed brickwork 🧱 and cast-iron ornamentation ⚙️. All of this gives the building a unique character on the block ✨.
