110 Years Strong: Paola Community Center Throws a Party to Remember

An Afternoon of Music, Chili and Community

What a way to celebrate 110 years! On Saturday, October 10, the Paola Community Center opened its doors for an afternoon of music, food and fun to mark a remarkable milestone for one of Paola's most treasured landmarks.

The historic 299-seat theater came alive with live music all afternoon, featuring the Celebrate Band, Wes Wescoat, the Ukulele Ladies, The Cowboys and The Tresgrassers. Chili lovers lined up for the Fall Chili Cook-Off, brave souls took on the Hot Wings Challenge, and families enjoyed games, pumpkin painting and plenty of hometown spirit.

A big thank-you to the City of Paola, the Community Center Board, the Paola Recreation Commission, and all the performers, volunteers and sponsors who made the day possible. For 110 years this building has been home to performances, celebrations, meetings and memories, and its best days are still ahead.
