Chamber Board Member Morgan Menefee Releases "Black the White Cat Haunts Halloween"

Just in time for trick-or-treat season, Paola Chamber of Commerce board member Morgan Menefee has a brand-new children's book on shelves: Black the White Cat Haunts Halloween.

Black the white cat might be a little grumpy, but he loves Halloween for one simple reason: it's the perfect night to steal your candy. When his own stash goes missing and a neighborhood bully shows up, Black hatches a plan, and this Halloween he just might become an accidental hero. It's a fun, spooky-sweet story for young readers, and a great pick for family story time this October.

Meet the Author

Morgan is a Kansas farm girl, author, publisher, librarian, and mom. After about 12 years teaching at the high school and university levels, and earning an MA in English with an emphasis in creative writing and a PhD in Curriculum & Instruction, she stepped into the role of public library director and never looked back. She writes both children's books and adult fiction, including the Home duology, Love You While You're Mine, and A Kraken Christmas, all published through her independent imprint, Kraken Cup Media. Her work centers on hope, heritage, and home, with an honest heart for mental health, faith, and women's issues.

We're proud to have Morgan serving on the Chamber board, and even prouder to celebrate her latest release with our community.
