Paola Leadership Highlights Shared Vision at 2026 State of the City Breakfast
PAOLA, KS — The Paola Chamber of Commerce was proud to host its annual State of the City Breakfast Tuesday, March 3rd at Town Square Events, bringing together business owners, educators, and civic leaders to discuss the milestones and future trajectory of the community. The event featured a comprehensive look at the collaborative efforts driving growth across the city, school district, and county.
The morning’s program provided a platform for key leaders to share updates on infrastructure, workforce development, and education. The Chamber extends its deepest gratitude to the distinguished speakers and officials who contributed their time and insights:
City Leadership: Special thanks to Mayor Leigh House and City Manager Randi Shannon for their presentation on upcoming municipal projects and their steadfast commitment to maintaining Paola's unique character while fostering economic development.
Educational Excellence: We appreciate USD 368 Superintendent Matt Meek and School Board President Amanda Gerken for highlighting the district’s latest achievements, current challenges, and the vital connection between our schools and the local economy.
County Oversight: Our thanks go to Miami County Commissioner Chairman George Pretz and County Administrator Shane Krull for providing a broader look at regional initiatives and the essential services that support our community's infrastructure.
"The success of Paola isn't found in a single project, but in the partnership between our city, county, and schools," said April Damron, Chamber Executive Director. "Events like Tuesday's breakfast allow us to step out of our daily silos and focus on our shared goal: making Paola a premier place to live and work."
The Chamber would also like to thank First Option Bank for their generous sponsorship and Blake Heid for his expert moderation of the morning’s Q&A session. A special thank you to JDMcKay’s Catering for providing a fantastic breakfast to fuel the conversation.
