History

The Pawnee City Chamber of Commerce was established to foster and promote civic activity. You can support the Pawnee City Chamber of Commerce by becoming a member.

Board Meetings are held on the first Thursday of every month at 12:00PM in the Pawnee City Public Library meeting room. Everyone is welcome to attend! 

BENEFITS OF BECOMING A MEMBER

• Business promotion and social media support with the opportunity to earn "Business of the Month"
  
• Recognition of new businesses with ribbon cuttings and support of grand opening events
• Opportunity to make a difference by becoming a board member
  
• Get involved in the community and give back to Pawnee City
• Networking events at local businesses

WHAT WE DO

• Meet once a month to discuss current events, ideas, and issues within the community
• Provide annual scholarship for Pawnee City High School seniors
• Annually award the Carolyn VanHorne Civic Award
• Maintain the Pawnee City website (pawneecity.com) and downtown lamppost planters 
• Sponsor location organizations and events, such as the Pawnee County Fair, Fairview Golf Club, the Jiggle Butt Run in support of the Pawnee County Medical Foundation, Pawnee City Ball Association, annual swim nights at the city pool, and Trick or Treat Around the Square

• Organize annual Christmas Festival, Easter Egg Hunt, and Fireworks Display

PREVIOUS ACTIVITIES

• Arranged for new homes to be built for lower income families in support of the Pawnee BOLD initiative

• Erected permanent "Welcome" signs on North and East edges of town and billboards to promote local business
• Contributed to Pawnee City Schools fitness center and the new Pawnee City Fire Hall

• Supported local trap shooting facility
• Contributed to Veterans Memorial

• Supported Assisted Living Center
